Case diameter

The diameter of a watch case is the biggest clue to how it will look when worn. Timepieces with a 38–41mm diameter will serve you well across most sartorial scenarios, but keep in mind that slimmer wrists will suit smaller watches, and vice versa. Larger diameters reflect a specialised purpose, like diving or aviation, while smaller ones have a refined mid-century appeal.
